Parent Obligations 2009

All parents will have to join together in a supportive effort to make this program beneficial for the players. Our mission is to let the players play, the coaches coach, and have the parents DO THE REST. It is important to understand that none of this can happen unless you, as parents, are willing to help. If you want our program to continue to provide high quality lacrosse activities you must be an active participant, not just an active observer. One parent for each player is required and expected to be at each game. Parents are encouraged to observe practices and are expected to have their child at practices and games on time. Parents are expected to pick up their child promptly at the end of each practice. The quality of our program will be a reflection of what each of us does to help. The support the parents have demonstrated over the years has been fantastic! The MVSA lacrosse program has been the benchmark that others work to emulate. Players and parents alike in this program have developed many new and true friendships. Please volunteer or step up when asked. You will be glad you did! Volunteers are needed in the following areas: 1.) Equipment management/distribution per team 2.) Fund raising 3.) Publicity games are reported to the local newspapers 4.) Field maintenance lining fields 5.) Setting up for games 6.) Taking down after games 7.) Two timers for each game 8.) Two statisticians for each game 9.) TEAM PARENT distributes phone trees 10.)Handles information distribution for the coaches There will be opportunities at the early season team meetings to sign up for these volunteer positions.
