Machine Pitch baseball is a terrific bridge between t-ball and kid pitch.  A machine delivers consistent pitches to each batter, who gets six chances to get a hit.  After six chances, if the batter does not get a hit then he or she "strikes out".

All players in attendance are in the batting order.  There are eleven defensive positions and the side is retired when the defense gets three outs.

The league is recommended for 2nd and 3rd graders, ages 7 and 8.  Teams practice for 1-1/2 hours each week (on  a night to be determined by the coach) and play games every Saturday at Martin T. Roy Park in the East Village.  Games last up to 2 hours.  In the fall, depending on numbers, Machine Pitch teams may play inter-league against teams from Damascus and play some games at fields in Damascus.

receive minor league replica shirts and hats with coordinated baseball socks. They must provide their own pants and gloves.  Team equipment bags include bats.  Cleats are not required but are recommended at this age.
